Zambia Episcopal Conference (ZEC) now Zambia Conference Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) president His Grace Telesphore George Mpundu has noted with dismay at how the environment is being neglected by Zambians and the world at large.
The Archbishop of Lusaka has since called on Zambians to change their attitude towards the environment. Archbishop Mpundu has also encouraged every Zambian to care for the environment by maintaining cleanliness in families, communities and the country at large, adding that cleanliness is next to Godliness. “People need to play a role in preserving nature as nature speaks about God's strength, love and might. Also parents, you must to teach children the importance of nurturing the environment in order to have a clean and green nation,” He said. The Archbishop has since encouraged tree planting in communities and adherence to the Law which prohibits setting bush fires.
