Superiors of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin of Eastern African Capuchin Conference (EACC) gathered Monday to Wednesday 25th May, 2016 in Lusaka for their annual general meeting.
Meanwhile Provincial Custos for Zambia, Fr. Thomas Zulu, OFMCap, has expressed pleasure of the many young people that have shown interest joining the order.
“We have seen a rise in young people joining our order. Like at St. Bonaventure University College in Lusaka we had 50 brothers this year, and next year we shall have 70 brothers” He said.
Fr. Zulu said this in an interview at ZEC Kapingila house where the general meeting is took place.
And Fr. Zulu has disclosed that one of the issues on the agenda was the financial crisis the Provinces and custodies are facing in the region and how they can handle it.
“We have been dependent on the mother provinces for finances, but as you know funds in Europe are dwindling, so our meeting is trying to see how to sustain ourselves” He noted.
Order of Friars Minor Capuchin of Eastern African Capuchin Conference (EACC) consists of Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Africa, Malawi, Kenya and Madagascar. Others are Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia and Mozambique.
