Pope Francis is coming to visit Africa this year, the Vatican has confirmed. Pope Francis will visit Kenya, Uganda and Central Africa Republic, as he makes his first trip to Africa, upon accepting the invitation issued by the respective Heads of State and local Bishops.
According to news posted on the Vatican website (news.va) quoting Vatican Radio, Pope Francis will visit Kenya from 25 to 27 November 2015 and Uganda from 27 to 29 November. Pope Francis will also visit the Central African Republic from 29 to 30 November 2015.
“The programme of the trip will be published in due course,” read the statement.
In Kenya, already some preparations have started and that some joint meetings between the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the government are going on.
The confirmation of the Pontiff’s visit to these countries has come as a relief to the Catholic faithful who have been eagerly waiting for the confirmation.
