Rt. Rev. Clement Mulenga, SDB bishop of Kabwe

  • Born 15th August, 1965 at Lunte, in Mporokoso District in Northen Province

  • Perpetual professed member of Salesians of St. John Bosco (SDB) on 25th April, 1998

  • Appointed Bishop of Kabwe on 29th October, 2011

  • Ordained Bishop on 17th December, 2011 by Archbishop Telesphore George Mpundu

Bishop Clement Mulenga, SDB  did his primary school education from 1974 - 1980 at Lunte and Chitoshi Primary Schools in Mporokoso District. he then went to Luwingu Secondary School for his secondary education before proceeding to Kasama Teachers' Training College. He joined the Salesian in 1988. 
Bishop Clement holds a BA in Religious studies and Bachelor of Sacred Theology , Nairobi, Kenya and a Licentiate (MSC) in Educational Sciences, Pontifical Salesian University. Since his ordination as a priest Bishop Clement has worked in various apostolate as formator and lecturer in Kenya and Tanzania respectively, as in charge of yourth in Ndola Diocese and Lusaka Archdiocese. He is the first bishop of Kabwe Diocese.

Rt. Rev. Patrick Chilekwa Chisanga, OFM. Conv. Bishop of Mansa
Born 16th May, 1971 in Mufulira, Ndola diocese
•Professed member of Order of Friars Minor Conventuals in 1992 and perpetual vows in 1998
•Ordained priest on 27th June, 1999
•Appointed Bishop of Mansa on 30th November 2013 and ordained Bishop 1st February, 2014 by Archbishop Ignatius Chama

Most Rev. Ignatius Chama

Most Rev. Ignatius Chama was born on 12th August 1957 at Mutono’s Village in Kawambwa in the Diocese of Mansa, Luapula Province.He did his priestly studies at St. Augustine’s major Seminary in Kabwe and St. Dominic’s major seminary in Lusaka where he was awarded a Diploma in Philosophy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sacred Theology. On 12th August 1984, he was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Mansa.He was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Mpika on 7th July,2008 and was consecrated on 28th September 2008 in Mpika. On 12th January, 2012 the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Archbishop of Kasama and remained Apostolic administrator for Mpika diocese until March 12, 2016 when Bishop Justin Mulenga was installed as Bishop of Mpika.

Appointed Bishop of Monze Diocese on 10th February 2014 and ordained Bishop on 3rd May, 2014 by Bishop Emilio Patriaca

 


Bishop Moses Hamungole started his junior secondary school at Kafue Boys but completed his senior secondary school education, in 1986, at Mukasa minor seminary school in Choma. In 1987, he was accepted to study philosophy and start his priestly studies at St. Augustine’s Major Seminary in Mpima, Kabwe. Later, in 1990, he proceeded to St. Dominic’s Major seminary in Lusaka for pastoral and Theological studies. He graduated with a degree in Theology in 1994.

Bishop Hamungole was ordained diocesan priest for the Archdiocese of Lusaka on 6 August 1994, and after his ordination, he worked as an assistant Parish Priest in Lusaka and Kabwe before being appointed to the then Yatsani TV Production studios (now CMS-TV Production studios) as studio manager, in 1997. Two years later, he proceeded to study at the Gregorian University in Rome where, in 2002, he graduated with a Licentiate in Social Science. He has worked as the Director of English Service-Africa and Kiswahili radio programmes at the Vatican Radio in Rome, Italy.

Bishop Hamungole has also worked at AMECEA secretariat as Secretary of social communications in Nairobi, Kenya between 2002 and 2009. During this time he was also President of SIGNIS Africa. (SIGNIS is the world association of Catholic communicators).

 

Rt. Rev. George Cosmas Zumaile Lungu

  • Born on 4th February 1960 at Zumaire Village, Minga in the Eastern Province .
  • Ordained Priest on 29th September, 1985.
  • Appointed Apostolic Administrator on 19th November, 1998.  Appointed Bishop by His Holiness Pope John Paul II on 5th December 2002
  • Episcopal Ordination on 23rd February, 2003.

Since his ordination as a priest, Bishop Lungu has held several senior positions in the Diocese of Chipata. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Theology from urban University of Rome and a Masters Degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
